German PLM systems company Solidline GmbH is expanding its CAM solution offerings in the United States through a partnership with HCL Technologies, makers of CAMWorks, and the release of Solidline CAMculator.
Solidline CAMculator is designed to optimize costs to save time and labor. The company says traditional costs are calculated using old inventory, estimated values, or trial programming. CAMculator uses CAM model data to calculate cycle time, which can be used to ultimately program and calculate the cost of an entire component. Solidline CAMculator supports automation and costing of parts for simultaneous machining up to five axes.
The system allows companies to reduce calculation time and calculate component cost based on the actual NC code of a part. Because it uses CAM model data, companies can achieve enterprise-wide repeat accuracy and consistency.
The company says its goal is to provide optimal solutions and services that continually improve results. It covers everything from consulting to installation, configuration, training and support.
